Frequently asked questions
Which QuickBooks versions do you help with?
QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online.
What is multi-user setup?
It lets several people work in the same company file at the same time. One computer or server holds the file and each workstation connects to it. We set up the host, the network access and each workstation, then test it with you.
What is Software Users Setup?
We add each person as their own user, set the areas they can use and what they can change, and write down the access list for your records.
Do you sell QuickBooks?
We help with setup and support. QuickBooks licences and subscriptions are bought from Intuit or an authorised seller, and their price is not part of our fee. We are independent and not part of Intuit.
How does a remote session work?
You choose to start it, you can watch everything we do, and you can end it at any time. We tell you in advance what we need access to.
Will you need my passwords?
For setup work we may need an admin login. Never share bank logins, card numbers or Social Security numbers with us. Change any temporary password after the session.
Do you back up my file first?
Yes. Before we change a company file we ask you to back it up, or we help you make a backup, and we confirm it before we start.
Can you help with Enterprise hosting?
We help you plan and set up hosted access with a hosting provider, connect your users and test it with you. Hosting fees are charged by the provider.
How are your fees charged?
Single fixes are quoted per session. Setup projects are quoted as a fixed fee. Ongoing support is a monthly fee. The method is always confirmed in writing before work starts.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Yes, within the limits set out in our Refund Policy & Terms page. Fees are always quoted in writing first.
Can I ask for several services at once?
Yes. On the Services page, press Add to enquiry on each service you want. They are carried to the contact form so you only write one message.
What if my problem is bookkeeping or taxes?
We do not provide bookkeeping, accounting or tax services. We help with the QuickBooks side only, such as setup, users and reports, and we will say so if your question needs an accountant.
